You Can Do More In 6 Months Than You Think
AHEM. I'd like to brag for a moment.
We're halfway through 2025. Many moments throughout those 6 months, I found myself thinking, "If I can just get caught up on work..."
Juggling so many projects that it felt like I was "behind," constantly.
Yesterday, my eyes widened when I read my scrawled monthly recaps as a part of my quarterly reflection.
In the first half of 2025, I:
📰 Was on the cover of a magazine
💸 Raised $1,050 in a week in donations for women's wilderness scholarships
🎿 Skied an average of over once a week through Q1
🎤 Expanded the Gorge Speakeasy to a new city
📖 Sold a couple hundred books
🌏 Visited Taiwan + Japan (and snorkeled with an octopus)
🏃♀️ Hosted an all-women's trail marathon + 50k
⛑️ Recertified my Wilderness First Responder
🎧 Launched a new podcast for a nonprofit
🍸 Drank a cocktail named after my event
❤️ Saw friends and family in Sedona, Florida, Moab, San Francisco, and Bellingham
🧩 Won a triple header escape room day
💃 Attended 3 bachelorette parties + 4 weddings
🚴 Rode in a gravel bike race + enjoyed 1 volcano summit + paddled a new to me whitewater river
🎙️ Presented/hosted/emceed 6 talks, 8 concerts, 5 pro comedic storytelling shows, and 1 sustainable tourism summit
✨ Heard everyone complaining about dating apps so launched a live game show to make it more fun
(Not to mention planned some top-secret projects that will unfurl publicly in Q3, hehehe just you wait)
WTF. WHY DID I THINK I WAS "BEHIND."
As I enter the second half of this wild year:
🙅♀️ OUT: Feeling like I'm playing catch-up, rushing from meeting to meeting, faux email urgency (or any urgency).
✨ IN: Mini + spontaneous trips/adventures. Getting more financially savvy. Slowness + spaciousness. Letting fun be just as important as a metric as time, money, efficiency, or miles. And more bragging!
OKAY FRIENDS AND INTERNET STRANGERS: Your turn.
What can I virtually + energetically celebrate for you and YOUR accomplishments over the past 6 months? What are your Q3 INs and OUTs?
